As web developers, we spend precious time laying out our pages, using every UI concept in the book to conserve space, while trying to maintain a user’s focus on the task at hand. There are many techniques to use Lightbox, Carousel and Tabs to name a few – and recently Scott Robbin has offered up another: jQuery pageSlide.
jQuery pageSlide was inspired by the UI work of Aza Raskin. Aza introduced the idea of sliding content aside to reveal a secondary content pane. This plugin allows any developer to recreate a similar interaction on their own website using a few simple lines of Javascript.

Parfois vous pouvez avoir besoin de générer un modèle de site pour un client ou pour vous, utiliser les générateurs de CSS peut être une bonne solution pour faire quelque chose de propre et de compatible avec les navigateurs. Ce matin mon choix se porte sur le générateur de Yahoo : YUI Grids CSS.
Plus simple cela n’est pas possible, une boite de dialogue vous demande le nombre de colonnes, la taille de la sidebar, etc… Très intuitif, ensuite il ne reste plus qu’à mettre le contenu dans le code et voilà un site de plus à votre actif!

jQuery Masonry is a layout plugin for jQuery. Think of Masonry as the flip side of CSS floats. Where as floats arrange elements horizontally then vertically, Masonry arranges them vertically then horizontally. The result leaves no vertical gaps between elements of varying height, just like a mason fitting stones in a wall. Masonry will work with all structural elements: div’s, lists, p’s, spans.
There are no setting or options within in the plugin. Instead, all spacing properties can be set with CSS. The only property required for Masonry to work is for the width of the child elements. Child elements should be should have equal width in order to avoid any overlapping.
